hot like this
Ok, so you might not be excited about this, but I'm tired today and I think it might be a bit psychological with them yammering on about the heat here all the time.
While it doesn't always seem very toasty outside to me, at least not as bad as some summers I've experienced, we've recently had a record number of days above 90, the HOTTEST summer in many years.
Today marks 21 consecutive days above 90. And apparently the hottest it's ever gotten in Denver was 105, we hit 104 on Thursday. Maybe it doesn't seem so bad to me because I've been spending the hottest part of the day inside with AC while Stephan naps.
9News posted that we officially broke today's record temp as it reached 102 in Denver. They are posting a "heat advisory" and telling people to drink lots of water and take it easy. Sort of silly since it gets way hotter in places like Vegas. Guess it's all relative to what you are used to. Thankfully it's at least cloudy, the sunshine we normally have everyday would make it all the hotter.
I find it funny that Tuesday's forecast says 88 and "cooler." I'm sure it will feel cooler, but 65 would be cooler to me and more comfortable too, 88 is still HOT. I just hope it cools off a bit more before school starts. I think both of my schools have AC, but there are so many that don't and it can be unbearable in some of those buildings.
In other news. I spent $17 shipping a package to my nieces. I can't believe it. I probably should have taken it to the PO instead of UPS but it may not have made a difference. Apparently Brown can do for you, but you'll pay for it. I hope the girls enjoy their gifts. We were going to do gift cards, but then I found this Biblezine that I wanted to send my older niece. It's like a magazine with articles and quizzes and stuff for teen girls but also has the whole NT included in the format. We got her a bracelet too, from Stephan. My middle niece we got a watch and the youngest a DVD. I didn't get the chance to connect with my SIL to see what they might like. It's hard when I don't see them that often. We also found a cake mix at Target and popped that in the box too. My oldest niece is allergic to eggs and dairy and some wheat thing too and this chocolate cake mix didn't have any of those things in it. Was pricey but hopefully the can enjoy it. Had Stephan make a thank you for the gift they sent him and put that in the box too.
Stephan's up again. He's really suffering these blasted molars. Clean bill of health from the Dr. but he's in pain and is so stuffed up it's ridiculous and he can't breathe and wakes up crying. Thankfully these are the last teeth for a bit.
