I know I live in Colorado ... BUT seriously, I'M SO OVER THE SNOW. It's not October. Thankfully I can stay home and chill and not have to drive in it. This is probably the most snow I've seen this late in spring. They said something about still having great snowboarding and skiing conditions in the mountains too. Crazy how much there is and it's still coming down pretty good too. Love the green grass and white snow combo, don't get that too often do you?
Over Christmas we got a lot of snow. It was beautiful but obnoxious. I was happy to spend a few extra "bonus" days with Andy who was able to take a few snow days since he has a very long drive and ended up working from home some because it was safer. However, this article (When snow falls in Baghdad ...) that Andy sent me portrays another side of snow ... in the deserts of Iraq. Obviously snow doesn't happen there very often and most people have never seen the sky "raining snow." I loved reading their descriptions of the snowflakes and the wonder and awe that caused a wonderful "natural disaster" ... no violence.
One thing that really strikes me about this is that it is a POSITIVE story in the media. Wish it would get more press!
Here's Stephan enjoying his first snow. Last year he was too little to get the snow thing (and we got a TON) but today he had fun walking around ... until the fall.
Then we came inside and lounged some, Stephan in what I thought was an uncomfortable position but hey, I guess I'm the one with the bad back.
And to be fair, I shouldn't leave out the cat. Miz Graycie has been doing her fair share of lounging too, in the most amusing places.
Ice Cream Update: I think my Apple Pie Ice Cream contribution to Turkey Day came out a success, I was quite happy that it did not all fit into the container so I got to sample some. Tasty stuff. Next time I might use more apples but I still think it will be a crowd pleaser. I sure hope so. I'll post pictures tomorrow or Friday.
